Birthday

25 years ago I was chillin' comfortably in the womb, takin it easy and havin' a good home-cooked meal. Suddenly I was rudely thrust down the birth canal and smacked, examined, poked and prodded and generally made a fuss of. Tonight I'll go home and watch a movie and share a bottle of wine. I've come a long way.

Happy Birthday, Nick! Oh, and because of how slow it's been at work lately, I have been visiting your blog almost daily. I have to live vicariously through your posts since I chickened out with the big move. However, the boyfriend is leaving for his year-long stint in Iraq soon, so I'm counting on you to take me beer garden hopping sometime next year.

A very Happy Birthday (late, but still) to you. I haven't seen you in so long that sometimes when people ask me if I have any syblings I have to pause and really think about it. But someone mentioned that it was the 26th and I intantly remembered that somewhere out in the depths of Prague is my brother. I hope you had a great birthday. I wanted to send you a funny book of essays, but alas, I didn't know your address. I called mom to get it, but she wasn't home. Then college life (ie work) took over and the idea eventually failed. So just pretend you're sitting in your probably crappily decorated apt reading David Sedaris's ME TALK PRETTY ONE DAY. :)
